Living in the Vegas area doesn't mean that every party has to be drinks by a drunken body-filled pool. I am constantly on a search to find family friendly activities. The 4th of July is no exception. Here are some great activities that you can do with your family.Saturday, July 2nd
- North Las Vegas 11th Annual Independence Day Jubilee includes a spectacular fireworks display; the Kids Corner, The Prince tribute band PURPLE REIGN, and concessions. 6:00 pm - 9:30 pm. Admission is $2 per person.
- Red, White & Tunes at the Spring's Preserve offers live entertainment by the UNLV Community Band from 8 -10 pm. If you have children who are afraid of fireworks, this is the place for you, as there will not be any at this event. $5 for adults and $2 for children ages 6 to 17. Children ages 5 and under are free. Family Pack tickets for $12 will be available for families with 2 adults and a maximum of 4 children.
- Wow, Lake Las Vegas really knows how to welcome the whole family. On July 3rd, they will be having a great celebration with face painting, games, fireworks, and more. The events start at 3; the Henderson Symphony Orchestra will be playing at 8; and fireworks start at 9. Free!
- Las Vegas Speedway's Night of Fire on Sunday, July 3rd, offers Nascar racing and Fireworks! Buy before July 2nd and get advanced pricing. Plus, they have a $2 off coupon.
- The Las Vegas 51's host the Colorado Springs Sky Sox. The game starts a 7 pm. Buy tickets here. The 51s organization will celebrate the "4th of July" with the traditional post-game "Fireworks Extravaganza!"
- 17th annual Summerlin Council Patriotic Parade promises Macy’s-style giant helium balloons, floats, and musical performers. It is a free event that will begin at 8:30 am. It is expected to be very crowded, so be prepared.
- Want a fun-filled day? The 63rd ANNUAL Boulder City Damboree Celebration maybe what you're looking for. The celebration begins at 7 am with a pancake breakfast. There's a parade at 9 am; games, contests, and entertainment all day; and of course, fireworks. They're all at different parks and at different times, so be sure to check the schedule to make sure you are in the right place at the right time. Most of the events are free, although the coin toss requires pool admission. I'm guessing the games may cost as well.
- The City of Henderson has a great night planned at Basic High School. It will include fireworks (of course), live entertainment, and concessions. Entertainment starts at 6 and the fireworks start at 9. Free!
- Station Casinos has five locations that will be setting off fireworks at 9. Each location will be having their own festivities. Some may not be appropriate for kids. However, the website also lists the best place to see their fireworks. Free!
